Meridian reads your Apple Health data on your iPhone and keeps every score there. There is no Meridian account, no Meridian server, and nothing is uploaded. We do not collect, store, sell or share your personal data.

What Meridian reads

With your permission, Meridian reads these Apple Health categories through Apple's HealthKit framework: sleep analysis, heart rate, heart rate variability, resting and walking heart rate, heart rate recovery, respiratory rate, wrist temperature, blood oxygen, VO₂ max, workouts and workout routes, active and basal energy, exercise and stand time, steps, distance, flights climbed, mindful minutes, height, weight, body fat and lean mass, waist circumference, blood pressure, blood glucose, hearing levels, menstrual cycle data, walking and mobility metrics, and sleeping breathing disturbances. You can allow or deny each category in the Health app at any time, and Meridian works with whatever it is given.

Meridian writes one thing back: blood-pressure readings you log in the app by hand, if you choose to log them.

Where it goes

Nowhere. All scoring, baselines, trends, biological age and the workout analysis run on your device. Meridian's caches live in the app's own storage on your iPhone and in its App Group container so the Home Screen widgets and the Apple Watch app can show your scores. iCloud backup of the device may include these caches, under Apple's iCloud terms, like any other app's data.

If you are signed in to iCloud, Meridian also keeps the things you typed in (training plans and the sessions you ticked off, your profile and settings, and blood-pressure and lab entries you entered by hand) in your iCloud account's key-value storage, so they come back after a reinstall or on a new iPhone. Apple stores that data under your Apple Account; we cannot read it. Health history is never stored there; it is read again from Apple Health.

We never use Health data for advertising, never share it with third parties, never sell it, and never use it for any purpose other than showing you your own scores, as Apple's guidelines for HealthKit apps require.

Apple Intelligence

The daily briefing, the coach and the workout reads use Apple's Foundation Models framework, which runs on your iPhone. The numbers Meridian hands the model stay on the device. On a future build, with your explicit opt-in in Settings, Meridian may use Apple's Private Cloud Compute for the same requests; Private Cloud Compute is designed so that data is used only to fulfil the request, is not stored, and is not accessible to Apple or to us. That option is off and unavailable until it is announced in the app.

Subscriptions

Meridian Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details. Apple shares anonymised transaction and subscription status with us through App Store Connect so that the app can unlock what you paid for and we can see aggregate sales. Receipts are verified on the device by Apple's StoreKit framework.

What we don't do

Notifications

If you turn them on, Meridian schedules local notifications (morning summary, wind-down, stress episodes, plan reminders, smart alarm) on your device. They are not sent through a server.

Children

Meridian is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them; it collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and the app will link to it. Material changes to what Meridian does with Health data would always require your consent in the app first.
